Go Raw LLC expanded its voluntary recall on June 8, 2026, to include one lot of Steve’s Real Food Chicken Recipe Freeze Dried, a popular food for dogs and cats. The 1.25-pound bag was sold in retail stores in more than a dozen states, including Pennsylvania.
The affected Steve’s Real Food Chicken Recipe Freeze Dried food has a best by date of 1/22/28, and the recalled product’s Lot Code is C26022 with UPC Code 6-91730-164 02-7.
The latest batch was recalled due to concerns that it may contain a low level of Vitamin B (thiamine). Because vitamin B is an essential part of dog and cat diets, pets who have a thiamine deficiency may begin to exhibit a variety of symptoms, including excessive salvia, decreased appetite, vomiting, and weight loss. More severe symptoms, such as seizures, may occur if the deficiency continues unchecked.
Pet parents should consult their veterinarian if their dog or cat exhibits such symptoms as, if left untreated, the deficiency can be life-threatening.
Go Raw LLC advises pet parents who have purchased the affected product to return it to the point of purchase for a refund or new product.
