The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced, on May 7, 2026, that Albright’s Raw Pet Food has voluntarily recalled its Select Chicken Recipe for Dogs Complete and Balanced. The recall of Lot #C001730, which was sold nationwide and online, impacts the one-pound bricks with an expiration date of April 28, 2027.

The Select Chicken Recipe for Dogs Complete and Balanced lot could be contaminated with salmonella. Pet parents who have purchased the one-pound bricks should dispose of them and can request a refund by emailing Albright’s Raw Pet Food at info@albrightsraw.com.

Transferrable to humans, salmonella in dogs may result in such symptoms as diarrhea (with or without blood), lethargy, decreased appetite, and fever. Not all dogs with salmonella, however, have symptoms. Even pets who are asymptomatic can spread salmonella through saliva and feces.

In its company announcement, Albright’s Raw Pet Food advises, “Pet owners should contact a veterinarian if their pet has eaten the recalled product(s) and shows symptoms, or if infection is suspected.”
