Oma’s Pride voluntarily recalled a single lot (BB012729) of Woof Complete Canine Chicken Recipe, sold in six-pound bags, due salmonella contamination, the company announced on Aug. 17, 2026.
The recall was spurred by a consumer complaint that resulted in the FDA finding salmonella in tested samples. To date, three dogs have reportedly become ill due to the affected product.
Dogs who have been infected with salmonella may display a variety of symptoms, including a loss of appetite, abdominal pain, bloody or normal diarrhea, and fever. Even though not all dogs will display symptoms, all infected dogs can transfer the salmonella to both people and animals.
Pet parents who suspect their dog may be infected should consult their veterinarian.
Oma’s Pride recall affects nearly a dozen states, including Pennsylvania. The company advises pet parents, who have purchased the recalled product, to immediately dispose of it and contact them for a refund.
