Going to a thrift store is sort of like embarking on a treasure hunt. You never know what one-of-a-kind treasures you’ll find. Whether you’re searching for something in particular – an old-school album or a knickknack like your grandma had – or you’re just browsing, you’ll likely score some pretty cool finds while helping pets at these eight pet thrift stores in Pennsylvania.

1. Little Bit of Snuggles Resale Shop – New Kensington

Earmark some time on a Saturday to explore Little Bit of Snuggles Resale Shop, where you’ll find an assortment of secondhand treasures, including clothing, jewelry, home décor, holiday decorations, and games. 2. The Thrifty Kitty Boutique – Lancaster

Treat yourself to a blast from the past, find some really cool vintage items, and help Humane Pennsylvania at The Thrifty Kitty Boutique. The one-of-a-kind thrift shop in Lancaster predominately focuses on vintage goods – like cassette tapes, books, decorations, and maps – and homemade items so you never know what hidden gem you’ll uncover.

Donations are also welcome. Check out The Thrifty Kitty Boutique website for welcomed items, including  toys and glassware, and those goods, such as furniture and electronics, that are not currently accepted.

The Thrifty Kitty is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

3. Animal Advocates Thrift Shop – Pittsburgh

Animal Advocate’s Thrift Shop sells a little bit of everything, from collectibles to housewares, with all proceeds benefitting the rescue. Don’t worry if you can’t make it to the physical Animal Advocates Thrift Shop. The rescue also sells items online on Poshmark and Depop. Cleaning out the garage or have items you don’t need? Donate gently used items, such as jewelry and pet products, to the thrift shop. Visit the Animal Advocates Thrift Shop website for a list of accepted and prohibited items.

4. Beaver County Humane Society Thrift Store – Beaver Falls

You never know what you’ll find at the Beaver County Humane Society Thrift Store, where the inventory is constantly changing. Carve out enough time to explore the clothing, décor, games, furniture, and vintage items. The thrift shop often features sales and special discounts, including a 20 percent senior discount (age 55 and older) on Wednesdays. (Items must be over 99 cents to qualify for the discount). All proceeds benefit the Beaver County Humane Society.

If you can’t make it to the store, head over to the BCHS Thrift Store’s eBay shop.

5. Paws and Shop Thrift Boutique – Warren

Enjoy a boutique experience at Paws and Shop Thrift Boutique in Warren. With inventory frequently updated, you may find gently-used clothing and accessories with such brand names as Calvin Klein, Coach, and Eddie Bauer. Explore the shop that also sells books, old-school albums and CDs, small appliances, home décor, and more. All sale proceeds go to the Paws Along the River Humane Society.

6. Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter Thrift Store – Chambersburg

Meander up and down the aisles at Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter Thrift Store, where you’ll find an eclectic mix of items – clothing, dishware, home décor, knickknacks, and seasonal decorations. Help rescued pups when you shop at Cross Your Paws Thrift Store. Benefiting Cross Your Paws Rescue, the thrift shop in Greensburg often features a wide variety of items. You may find a wood wine rack, seasonal decorations, framed artwork, games, and kitchen supplies. If you’ve recently cleaned out, consider donating to the shop.
