CVS Pharmacy has announced that pet parents can now fill select pet-only medications at all 9,000 of its pharmacies nationwide. Common medications that can be filled at CVS Pharmacy include those for allergies, diabetes, and flea and ticks, in addition to antibiotics and pain relievers.
“Greater flexibility in where pet prescriptions are filled helps reduce stress and delays, ensuring pets receive the medications they need conveniently while supporting their health and well-being,” the company stated in a press release issued on July 21, 2026.
Automatic refills and, in some cases, prescription delivery are among the benefits of the new program. ExtraCare members can also earn a maximum of $50 ExtraBucks Rewards during each calendar year.
Additionally, customers may use third-party discount cards, which may offer further savings.
Individuals with a CVS Pharmacy account on CVS.com or the CVS Health App can add their pet’s profile, where they can manage prescriptions, including requesting refills. Each family pet should have their own profile.
Pet parents can begin having their pet’s medications filled by asking their veterinarian to contact the pharmacy or by providing a paper prescription to their local CVS Pharmacy.
The pilot program is just part of CVS’s initiative to appeal to pet parents. The company has also expanded its pet brand, Pet Central, in store and online to include a wide selection of products, such as dental treats, pet toys, shampoo, small animal supplies, and wet and dry food.
