Pet-Friendly PA: Our Story
Pets are beloved members of our family. We take them on vacation with us, buy them gifts for the holidays, their birthday, and gotcha day, and include them in as many of our activities as we can. We want to spend as much time with them as possible because they make our lives better. Sometimes, though, finding pet-friendly places in Pennsylvania can be, well, time-consuming, and maybe even a bit frustrating.
As part of a multi-pet family, I know how hard it is to find a comprehensive list of pet-friendly places in Pennsylvania in one place that focuses on dogs and other pets. While there is a lot of information online and there are a lot of places that allow pets, I often have to dig through several websites to find the information I need.
It turns out I’m not alone.
Not long ago, I started seeing social media posts with locals asking about places that welcome pets. That’s when it clicked. What if I create a website dedicated to the pet-friendly places in Pennsylvania, a one-stop resource with articles, reviews, videos, upcoming events, and lists of the destinations that welcome our pets, and build a community where pet parents come together to share information and stories?
That flicker of an idea became Pet-Friendly PA. While we’ve built a solid foundation to start, Pet-Friendly PA will constantly be evolving as we remain focused on one goal: to provide the most up-to-date, accurate information about pet-friendly Pennsylvania.
You may notice, for example, that a directory, like dog parks in Pennsylvania, may be a bit sparse as we work to populate it. That's because we're still a work-in-progress. Our goal is to create the most comprehensive directories - of dog parks and other pet-friendly places - we can all use. If you have a favorite dog park you don't see listed, please share it with us.
